On this wiki I will include all information which may be of interest for personnel at the Department of Astronomy and Theoretical Physics. Current information will be on this page, but also previous information will be available on the old news page. I will also use this page for information relating to different committees:

  • [17.02.09] The tower is now safe for access again. Please contact the head of department to get tower access on your LU card

  • [16.06.21] The LUCRIS portal will go public on 22 August 2016. This is also the deadline for all employees to have filled in their mandatory research information in the system. See the faculty's instructions here.

  • [16.05.03] The psychosocial survey has been sent out by e-mail. Please take the time to fill in this important annual survey of the working environment in the department.
  • [15.12.21] At least one in every fifteen employees at a department must have First aid/CPR training. If you are interested (and you should be!), please sign up for such a course (even if you have already taken the course you may want to sign up for a rehearsal session, which should be done once every three years). Contact the prefect for details.
  • [15.12.15] The elections for the Department Board and Prefekt for the period 2016-2018 has now been completed and the result can be seen here (in Swedish).
  • [15.12.02] The Faculty has decided to approve our request to have two assistant head of department in the future instead of just one.
  • [15.11.13] The department seminar on work-place harassments was very well attended. For those who missed it we have received a couple of summary slides from the speaker.
  • [15.10.14] Elections for the Department Board and Prefekt for the period 2016-2018 will take place this fall. A nomination committee has been elected and they are supposed to present their nomination by the end of October. The employees who are eligible to vote are listed here.Please look through the list and let the prefekt know if you suspect someone is missing (note that PhD students are not and should not be included in this list).

Information from the Faculty and University

Regular news letters and blogs are sent out by the Faculty and the University.

  • [17.03.07] The faculty has issued a call for project grants for research with neutrons and synchrotron radiation. The deadline is 5 May 2017.
  • [16.11.22] The dean has written a note where he emphasizes that conference fees must under *no* circumstances be handled on a private account if the conference is organised in the name of Lund University
  • [16.09.05] Lund University now has an agreement with the company Ringduvetaxi for taxi transport in Sweden.
  • [16.05.27] The call for university funds for research infrastructure has come out, with deadline 2 September 2016. Dokuments can be found here, here and here.
  • [16.05.23] The rules for internal handling of applications for project grants from the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation can be found here. Note the deadline on 28 September. Please contact your topic responsible and the prefect if you are interested in pursuing this opportunity.

  • [16.01.19] The science faculty will introduce a new system called LUCRIS for research information - you can read about the system and the schedule for implementation here.
  • [15.11.09] The university will change the system handling all its finances in the end of the year. The majority of the employees will not be affected by this directly, but there are a few points to think about, such as the importance of registering as many as possible of your travel claims before the 4th of December. More information here (in Swedish).
