copyright update does not work as expected in branch

Description
I looks like it does not follow on copy, and therefore it is not recommended to use this functionality on a branch directory.

No, the issue here was that copyright was based on changes only within the branch. This implies that most copyrights were lost. I suspect it was because some function did not follow copy, so it would not see further back than the creation of the branch.
I'm not sure, but it might be that this is not an issue anymore. I think the problem was the log function and currently copyright is based on information from the Stats classes. I have to look into that though, to be certain.
