Description

Is this a feature? There may be some reason behind it but I think make uninstall should remove empty directories at least.

What directories are you talking about?

If it is an automake target we are talking about, its behavior is mandated by GNU Coding Standards, which says: There is no need to delete parent directories that were created with ‘mkdir -p’, since they could have existed anyway.

Replying to peter:

One example is /usr/local/include/yat

Well, I do not agree; "There is no need to" should say "We cannot". Whatever it is out of our hands, lets forget this ticket.
